We can easily see lovely cats and dogs being used in merchandises. Some artists may feel doubt of them or may like how they are used. 

100 artists were able to choose either cat or dog team. Drawings were posted on instagram and people were able to bet for either team.

귀엽고 사랑스러운 소재들로 소비자의 관심이 쏠리는 상황은 낯선 일이 아닙니다. 어떤 작업자는 종종 회의감이 들기도 하고 어떤 작업자는 이런 분위기가 퍽 마음에 들기도 합니다.

참여 작업자는 본인의 선택에 따라 CAT 50명, DOG 50명으로 나누어져, 관람자는 작업자가 발표한 이미지를 기호에 맞게 투표하고, 후원하고, 소비할 수 있습니다. 약 한 달에 걸쳐 투표가 진행되며, 관람자의 참여도에 의해 한 팀이 승리합니다!






I don’t have my own cat at the moment, but always waiting for that time to come. I will be my cat’s only world to trust and rely on. Just like my childhood days when my little doll was everything to me. I think it is special to create a piece dedicated to something I love and being able to be connected with people. The scene is about the first moment of time meeting the cat of my life.
 
저에겐 아직 저 만의 고양이가 없지만, 언제나 그 순간을 기다려요. 이 세상에 서로가 하나뿐 일 테고, 나를 믿어줄 이 작은 생명체는 어린 시절 인형이 전부 이였던 것 시절처럼 너무나도 소중할 테니까요. 애정하는 존재를 소재로 삼는 다는건, 그 소재로 사람들과 연결이 될 수 있다는 건, 특별한 순간 인 것 같아요. 그래서 묘연의 순간을 담아보고 싶었어요. 고양이가 어렵게 내딛는 첫 걸음을 신중함과 책임감으로 사람이 받아줬으면 하는 바램도 넣었어요. 작업 스타일은 선에서 느낄 수 있도록, 어린시절 작은 아이의 서툴지만 진실된 마음을 표현하고자 했어요.
